Experience the laid back vibe of a kiwi bach

What's a bach?

Pronounced 'batch', it's what most South Islanders call their holiday homes.  Baches are all about kicking back and relaxing.

Anna and Alastair created their awesome Geraldine based restaurant to look and feel like a genuine kiwi bach.

The food is amazing!

The menu is awesome, including a great kids menu.

They serve legendary burgers, salads, amazing coffee, shakes and some kiwi favourites like chips and dip, or cheerios with sauce.

They operate sustainably

Not only is it a cool place to eat and visit, Anna and Alastair operate their business with sustainability front of mind.

In keeping with the kiwi bach feel pretty much the entire place has been repurposed and recycled.  A lot of their cool decor comes second hand and rescued from places like the Crows Nest Timaru.

They have also signed up to the Use Your Own initiative (https://www.uyo.co.nz/), and offer a discount on coffee when you use your own cup.  They are also a refill station, they'll fill up your reusable water bottle, just ask.

What do they do on their time off?

They love hanging out in Peel Forest and the Waihi Gorge.  There's a cool Doc operated campsite at Waihi Gorge, with picnic areas and swimming holes.
