The Art of Flower Photography

Trevor Griffiths Rose Garden, Timaru, Canterbury
Don’t just take a photograph, create your own art. This hands-on workshop will inspire you to create fine art flower images; each a moment of beauty that you can relive every time you see your artwork.

You will go into the Gardens to capture that moment of splendour, from the architectural angles of a simple rose thorn to the mass of colour the gardens produce.

This workshop is suitable for all who are keen to do more with their photos. All you need to bring is a device with a camera, the focus is on the art rather than the technical functions of your cameras. The workshop will involve practical exercises to help you analyse your shot selection, interpret floral subjects and themes and embrace challenging or unusual lighting.

It will also cover different ways to take photos to create movement or dimension and will introduce the basics of editing to encourage you to do more with your images.
